Crater Lake Lodge in late June 2005 and there's still a lot of snow! According to the National Park Service, Crater Lake receives an average 528 inches of snow per year. Although Rim Drive closes to vehicles due to this huge amount of snow every year, its views of Crater Lake continue to be enjoyed by cross-country skiers or those with snow shoes.

Crater Lake Lodge has 71 rooms and is typically open mid-May to mid-October. Rooms fill up very quickly so if you want to stay there you'll have to make reservations months in advance -call 541-830-8700 or go online. Room rates can be found here.

Another lodging option is the Mazama Village Motor Inn with 40 guest rooms in Mazama Village. Camping is also available in the park.
